ABC News Polling Director Criticizes Flawed Military Times Survey
When it comes to survey research, the Military Times is shooting blanks. The publisher released an alleged poll last week purporting to show that most U.S. service members are uneasy with the prospect of an Obama presidency: “Six out of 10 active-duty service members say they are uncertain or pessimistic" about their new commander-in-chief. Sad to say, the methodology behind this piece of work is about as reliable as a rusted carbine; FUBAR, you might say. It’s not even a survey at all, but a woefully incomplete census of Military Times readers.
