Calling All Supporters: Meet Your Senators

Since last Thursday, when we launched our grassroots initiative with the Human Rights Campaign in ten target states, more than 120 supporters have signed up to visit their senators. Now is the perfect time to schedule a visit, as senators will be home in their states during the August recess and the Senate floor vote to repeal “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” could come when they return to Washington after Labor Day.

This is our last push, our last chance to meet with senators face-to-face and ask them to stand on the right side of history. Your efforts during this crucial window could make a huge difference.

All 100 senators need to hear from us about repeal, but if you live in one of the ten target states, your involvement is particularly important. These states are: Arkansas, Indiana, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Virginia.

Sign up now to meet with your senators! SLDN staff will be happy to work with you on setting up the visit, finding other volunteers to go with you, and discussing talking points. This is the moment to take action, tell your story, and make your voice heard!
