Florida Resolution Adds to Groundswell
Today the Broward County, FL, Commission unanimously approved a resolution urging President Obama and Congress to overturn DADT. This vote directs county administration to send a copy of the resolution to members of the Florida Congressional delegation and to the President. Broward joins other counties in Florida -- Oakland Park and Wilton Manors -- in calling for repeal. We hope that today's vote reminds policymakers in Washington, except perhaps for Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL) who wrote a letter last week to Obama urging repeal, that swift action is needed now to end the ban.
