Get Loud or Get Drowned Out - Do Your Part Today
Now that we are well into the August recess, each and every day it becomes more important that we keep the pressure on our elected officials. No, I'm not talking about health care, but something just as important: our national security. Every day, the US military fires almost two service members just on the basis of their sexual orientation. I know that you've heard this before, but please, with hearings on "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" being planned for later this year, we must keep our voices loud if not louder during the August recess, so we are not drowned out by the vigorous debates taking place on other issues around the country.
Today, we have a golden opportunity to meet face to face with our legislators to urge them to support repeal and strengthen our military. We need to reach 218 co-sponsors of HR 1283, the bill that would overturn this discriminatory law, to show the Congressional leadership that the time is right...and we need your help. Now is the time to engage and keep the pressure up. Please, pick up the phone and call your representative. If he/she is a cosponsor of HR 1283, please thank them for their courageous leadership. If they are not a cosponsor, demand a meeting with them and lay out the argument plain and simple: It is time to keep the best and the brightest in the military, no more delays, no more studies. Repeal this law and strengthen the military now. You can find tips and talking points plus a wealth of other information at the Take Action page of our website.
The time has never been more urgent for action and the possibility of success has never been closer to our reach. Do your part, now.

Right now I’m working on trying to get McNerney into a meeting. (Ca. district 11)I may have to post look outs to see if he goes to his office. Gonna have to pull a Brigg’s tactic and get the media there or something.
