Legal Department Hits the Road This Week
SLDN’s legal team looks forward to participating in several upcoming campus events, where we will have the opportunity to engage and update supporters about what’s ahead on the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT) repeal front.
From noon-1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Roger Williams University School of Law, I will explain the next steps for DADT repeal and the risks for service members under this law, which remains in effect. Click here for details about the event (“Still Not Safe to Come Out”), open to both students and the public.
The implications of DADT repeal on veterans will be the focus of discussion during Friday’s 3rd Annual Veterans Legal Assistance Conference at University of Maryland School of Law (8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.). Advance registration is required. Click here to RSVP and learn more.

Thanks Aaron for SLDN’s escalating involvement to get the end of DADT done. Sadly, most believe it is already done, not realizing that some in Congress are gearing up for a major last battle—we see it starting in House hearings. It’s not done until it’s done, and we are all learning the military term “Slow March.”
By the way, there was no room for comment on the Aubrey Sarvis letters to Pawlenty, Barbour, and Huckabee—but thanks to SLDN for this effort. I hope you can stir up their bases to go after their ignorance, bigotry and hypocrisy.
