National Dinner Energizes Supporters in Night of Inspiration

Table of Honor readingCreating a stronger America and a stronger military takes the work, dedication and financial support of a great number of patriots. This Saturday, SLDN's 17th Annual National Dinner and Silent Auction mobilized many of our most committed supporters in a wonderful evening of hope and continued solidarity. The diversity of the audience was remarkable. I was honored to be included in the program, and was especailly delighted to share the Table of Honor reading with Medal of Honor recipient, Senator Daniel K. Inouye (D-HI).

Passage of the Military Readiness Enhancement Act would impact every single American - gay or straight, black or white, young and old alike. Allowing all qualified Americans to serve openly regardless of sexual orientation would strenghten our military and fulfill the promise of freedom and equality, principles upon which our nation was founded. For too long our patriots have been denied freedom while defending it for others. The time to repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" and restore the American dream is now.
