SLDN Educates Students in Gainesville, FL

Several members from the University of Florida Law's Military Law Student Association (MLSA) joined OutLaw and American Constitution Society (ACS) members at SLDN’s event earlier this week, eager to learn about “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” and how military leaders can expect to address its implications in practice.

OutLaw and ACS’s members sat at a dinner table with MLSA and discussed legal fact patterns on DADT that were presented by Aaron Tax and David McKean of SLDN’s legal department - and together, all attendees heard first-hand accounts of DADT’s discriminatory and arbitrary effects. Instead of questions prefaced with “if DADT is repealed,” nearly all began with “when,” a telling sign that the fight for repeal has penetrated all regions of the country.

Thanks to ACS for helping OutLaw with this event, and thanks to SLDN for two wonderful presentations.
