SLDN Photo Gallery:  The Army-Navy Club

Last night, SLDN invited our DC-area supporters to join Sergeant Darren Manzella at the Army-Navy Club, for a reception in his honor. And we wanted to share with you some photos from the event, by photographer Judy G. Rolfe. Darren and his mom. Sergeant Manzella speaks to SLDN supporters. Thanks for all you are doing SGT Manzella. I wish we had more people like you when I considered entering the service back in 1989. I knew I was gay and didn’t go in because of the fear of being found out and losing my military status. Believe me you have a lot of people in Georgia looking forward to the day when DADT is dropped as a law. Take care and congrats on your awards in the service as well.

this is Captain Elizabeth Griffin, USMC Vietnam Veteran.  Thought that the SLDN photo gallery at the army-navy club was fantastic.  I was “in the closet 1967-1973” during Vietnam Conflict.  President Clinton’s worst policy to go to “don’t ask, don’t tell”, to keep Powell on his team, was a disaster.  I am so glad that brave men and women are standing up, and being counted, taking the risk for all of us.  Semper Fi!
