SLDN Protest Spotlights DADT at DNC Event

SLDN Protests DNC Fundraiser: 265 is Enough
On June 25, SLDN staff and supporters protested outside the Democratic National Committee (DNC) LGBT fundraiser at the Mandarin Oriental in Washington, D.C., to send a clear message that President Obama and Vice President Biden must end their silence on "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" repeal. SLDN distributed buttons and held signs with the number 265, which represents the number of service members discharged under DADT since President Obama was sworn in Jan. 20.

We will continue to urge the President and Congress to act with a sense of urgency for repeal at our March on the White House at 2 p.m. Saturday in Farragut Square (17th & K St. NW).
