Sue Fulton…Making History, and Making Us Proud
How thrilled we were at SLDN this afternoon to receive word from the White House that the President has appointed Sue Fulton, a founding Board Member of OutServe and the Executive Director and co-founder of Knights Out, to the U.S. Military Academy Board of Visitors. Sue graduated in 1980 with the first West Point class to include women and will be the first openly gay member of the Academy’s Board.
Sue was a stalwart in the fight for repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” and her personal experience, as well as her passion for full equality in the military, will be invaluable to the West Point board. Indeed, this is an historic appointment and strikes exactly the right tone as we move toward open service. Thank you, Sue, for making history…and making us proud.
