Lieutenant Danyell Brenner, USN
Lieutenant Danyell Brenner was commissioned December 2005 in Rhode Island. LT Brenner came into the United States Navy as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and graduate from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with specialties in psychology and sociology. She became a Board Certified Diplomate in 2009.
LT Brenner’s first duty station was at the National Security Agency in Ft. Meade although was short toured to Diego Garcia in 2007. While stationed in Diego Garcia, LT Brenner completed her Master in Business Adminstration and Global Management. LT Danyell Brenner spent the next three years at the United States Naval Hospital, Okinawa before being stationed at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
LT Brenner is a known specialist in Borderline Personality Disorder and Eating Disorders and focuses her practice on Combat related Post Traumatic Disorder, Women’s issues and champions Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues within the military. LT Brenner has taught several Maser Level programs at the University of Maryland, Asia and was hired at Columbia College as a part time adjunct professor. LT Brenner helped create the first OutServe Scholarship Foundation. LT Brenner’s awards include four Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals and one Joint Meritorious Unit Award.
