The Clock is Ticking for Repeal

On July 22, 2011, 212 days after the signing of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT) repeal legislation, President Obama, Defense Secretary Panetta, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mullen certified that the U.S. military is ready for DADT repeal, which will now take place in 60 days on September 20, 2011.

Today SLDN launched the Countdown Clock to mark the number of days until DADT repeal takes effect. For every day that the clock ticks we are one day closer to putting this discriminatory law behind us!
