House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Joins SLDN In San Francisco On November 9
WHAT: Servicemembers Legal Defense Network�s Honor Every Veteran reception, saluting the service of America�s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender service members and veterans.
WHO: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) will be joined by California Assembly Members Mark Leno and John Laird; Supervisors Tom Ammiano and Bevan Dufty and San Francisco Treasurer Jose Cisneros as well as SLDN executive director Aubrey Sarvis.
WHY: Since 1993, more than 11,000 men and women have been dismissed from the U.S. military under the federal �Don�t Ask, Don�t Tell� ban on lesbian, gay and bisexual service members. SLDN�s Honor Every Veteran reception benefits the organizations work to provide free legal services to troops impacted by the law, and to work for repeal of �Don�t Ask, Don�t Tell.�
