National Journal: Gay Rights Orgs. Attack DOMA for Hurting Gay Servicemembers

The gay rights organizations Freedom to Marry and the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network have teamed up for a campaign emphasizing how same-sex military families are hurt by the Defense of Marriage Act.

The "Freedom to Serve, Freedom to Marry" campaign launched with an online video depicting the relationship between Monica and Naomi, before Naomi is deployed to Afghanistan. The video, arguing the law means gay military families are treated unequally, concludes with the line: "What if you lost the person you love and you were the last to know?" (Check it out below.)
