SLDN Encourages Chairman Levin to Announce Firm Date for DADT Hearing

After 16 long years, the 65,000 gay and lesbian patriots have been patiently waiting for this Senate hearing. Finding out what happened at Fort Hood is very important, but so too is repealing the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” law. One of the major first steps in this effort is a hearing in the Senate Armed Services Committee. Hopefully, Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin’s (D-MI) next statement on the matter will be to announce a firm date for an early January 2010 DADT hearing.
