SLDN Statement on Judge Phillips’ Order in Log Cabin Case

On November 24, Federal District Court Judge Virginia A. Phillips denied the Justice Department’s motion in Log Cabin Republicans v. United States of America, a case that challenges the constitutionality of the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” law. As we pointed out last week, the Justice Department’s extraordinary motion would have delayed the trial. We are glad that the justifications used to support the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” law will finally be put on trial. And we look forward to the case moving forward in 2010.
