The Military Readiness Enhancement Act (H.R. 1283) was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives on March 3 by Rep. Ellen Tauscher (D-CA), who is joined by 134 bipartisan cosponsors and counting. The bill would repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" and allow all qualified service members, regardless of sexual orientation, to serve openly. SLDN is working with key allies to introduce parallel legislation in the U.S. Senate.
