Joe Tom Easley joined SLDN's board in May 2000. He is currently a lecturer for the BAR-BRI Bar Review, and is a long-time law professor at several universities.Easley received his JD with honors from the University of Texas School of Law, where he was Managing Editor of the Texas Law Review. He also holds a Master of Public Health from the Yale University School of Medicine. He was law clerk to Chief Judge Bailey Aldrich of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit in Boston and has taught at the University of Georgia, University of Virginia and Yale. Easley was also Associate Dean for Faculty and Academic Affairs at the American University in Washington, D.C. He is former co-chair of the board of directors of the Lambda Legal Defense & Education Fund, and past president of the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.
