COL E.A. Leonard, USA (Ret.)
Retired Army Colonel Leonard served 30 years in varied active and reserve roles. Primarily an intelligence officer, he also had infantry, special forces, military and sports parachute, and foreign language training, and was a scuba diving instructor. Colonel Leonard spent more than three years in combat in Vietnam and Laos with the infantry, armored cavalry, artillery and special operations forces, and served tours varying from a few weeks to over two years in length as a military diplomat in five US embassies. He was continuously affiliated with the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) for over 20 years. As an intelligence analyst, he briefed the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, and in the White House Situation Room. His major decorations are: Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Army Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Joint Services Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal; and US, French and Royal Laotian parachute wings. Colonel Leonard holds B.A. and M.B.A. degrees and is a member of the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network (SLDN), the American Veterans for Equal Rights (AVER), the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), the Association For Intelligence Officers (AFIO), and the Special Operations Association (SOA).
