Francisco Ramirez

Chief Operating and Financial Officer

Francisco (Pancho) Ramirez joined SLDN in 2005 and serves as the organization’s Chief Operating and Financial Officer.

Ramirez was born in Chile and is a naturalized U.S. citizen. He is a graduate of the University of Concepcion-Chile and holds degrees in Business Administration, Management Accountancy and Auditing, and is a member of the Chilean Association of CPAs.

Ramirez has over 30 years of experience as a Chief Financial Officer of international and U.S. nonprofits with social and human rights missions. He has worked for the International Planned Parenthood Federation- both in London-U.K. and New York, the International Youth Foundation, Quest International, America’s Promise and the Rural School and Community Trust

Ramirez has traveled extensively, providing technical assistance to nonprofits in over 50 countries. He is a member of the Ethics & Standards and the Finance Committees of the Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organizations (over 1300 members) and was previously a member of its Board of Directors. He is also the Treasurer of the Community Action Council of Howard County, Maryland.
