John Goodman

John Goodman brings 30 years of legal and legislative experience to SLDN, which he joined in May 2009. John serves as a resource to the SLDN legal team, providing legal expertise and advice, and to the policy advocates in their legislative efforts.

A native New Yorker, John graduated from Princeton University and Harvard Law School. He practiced law in New York before moving to Washington in 1983 to work for Verizon (then Bell Atlantic) where he was involved in both legal and legislative efforts until his retirement. John's legal experience has been in litigating in state and federal courts (up to the U. S. Supreme Court), dealing with the Department of Justice, FTC and FCC, and supervising outside counsel.
