Will you join me?
From SLDN's nationwide e-mail action alert to supporters on May 10...
Today I joined more than 300 veterans from across the country for Veterans Lobby Day (May 10-11) in Washington, D.C., to call on Congressional leaders and the White House to end "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" this year. Like thousands of other service members, I was fired under DADT. We are telling Congress and the White House that now is the time to seize the moment and make sure no more patriots are lost to this discriminatory law.
And guess what? You don't have to come to the nation's capital to help us win the repeal fight.
Send our elected officials a clear message to end DADT this year. Let's urge Congressional leaders and the White House to make repeal in 2010 the priority it should be.
Tell the White House and Congress to lift the ban now.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid

Your voices are needed now more than ever as the fight for repeal intensifies. Earlier this month, Defense Secretary Robert Gates told Congress to put off repeal until the Pentagon completes its Working Group study in December. The fact is Congress can do both: Receive the Pentagon recommendations and repeal DADT this year.
Repeal advocates cannot let the clock on repeal be turned back at this critical hour. SLDN and the entire repeal coalition are counting on you to make your voice heard today.
Thank you for standing with us.
